We need farms that are at all stages of development towards selling direct to conscious customers and acting to enhance life. As the Renaissance spreads, those farms and enterprises that are more developed will naturally create opportunities for other farms and enterprises to farm and produce food as part of a more diverse, networked. So if there's any patch of land that you think could, should or might be used for something towards the Agrarian Renaissance then fill in the form below, if only to mention it and get it on our system.
To lead the Agrarian Renaissance, to show what is possible, and to host real life meetings where new enterprises can start, we are looking to bring together a peer-group of the outstanding, path-finding farm based enterprises across the UK, led by people already creating a complete alternative to going to the supermarket. This group of farms and farmers will collaborate to form a national umbrella brand that stands for connecting people, land and food. If you know a farm[er] that fits, please fill in the form and get in touch
agrarian [uh-grair-ee-uh'n] adjective [1] relating to or concerning the land, especially its ownership, cultivation, and tenure [2] relating to agricultural or rural matters and interests [3] pertaining to the reform of land use and land tenure, usually in the interests of equity and those who work on the land.
renaissance [ri-ney-suh'ns] noun [1] a rebirth, or revival [2] a cultural renewal of life, vigor and interest, especially in learning, literature and the arts, which is reminiscent of the great European revival of classical culture at the end of the middle ages.
pioneer [pahy-uh-neer] noun [1] a person who is among those who first enter or settle a region [2] one who is first or among the earliest in any field of inquiry, enterprise, or progress [3] in ecology, an organism that successfully establishes itself in a barren area, thus starting an ecological cycle of life.
The next year is going to involve a roadshow of events and meetings on farms, to bring together farmers and people and to plot the Renaissance.
Self-organising groups and new enterprises are getting together around the country. If you're an enterprising spirit who can make the Agrarian Renaissance happen, we need to hear from you.
